Problem with cvsup hanging ...

:In a cruel twist of fate, I did run cvsup in gdb.  It worked just fine 
:then, though I got *no* information out of it.  How annoying is that? :)  
:So I got /usr/ports updated, but now I have no idea why cvsup wasn't

    Well, by your description it kinda sounds like the laptop is 
    overheating.  If an ACPI boot recognizes throttling then try
    to throttle the cpu down a bit and see if the laptop is more
    stable.  I forget the precise sysctl but it would be somewhere
    in the sysctl hw.acpi section.
