Getting rid of ALWAYS_MSG (was Re: smbfs problems?)

We should get rid of ALWAYS_MSG. I was just thinking a few days
ago that was a mistake. It was meant to help me test messaging on
a uniprocessor, but I then put together a MP box to test with, so
it's not really needed.
Getting rid of it doesn't solve the module problem though. Modules
should be compiled with ALWAYS_MSG (so I guess there is a use for
it after all) and we can do your mp_putport trick to optimize the
uniprocessor case dynamically.
I'll see what I can whip up tonight to fix this.
