Thanks. I could use the generated file for further tests. Surprisingly 
the build order for the dfports XFree86-4-Server doesn't include 
XFree86-libraries and the necessary FBSD-fonts packages.

Is it a good idea to install the freebsd specific VMware Tools ports?


I was not able to get this installed but have not tried in atleast 2-3
months.
The Tools package generates a XF86Config-file, too. With some lines from 
this file I could enable higher resolutions.
