Promise ATA RAID broken

UPDATE to this thread:
I updated ata-raid.c to version 1.12 and that solved the problem,
RAID is recognized and is intact. However, the machine still
doesn't boot and just hangs after cd0: is detected -- i.e. the
whole kernel dmesg comes up as expected, just that the message
"Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ar0a"
never comes up. Anyone have any ideas?
