   Ok, excellent, the cores will definitely be useful.

   Since you seem to be able to reproduce this quite often, I would like
   you to turn off softupdates on all your mounts.  I have a suspicion
   that I am breaking something that softupdates relies on.  If we
   can narrow down the cause I'll be able to find the problem more quickly.

   To turn off softupdates you boot into single-user mode and then
   'tunefs -n disable <filesystem>' for each filesystem, then reboot.
