I'll sync the driver with FreeBSD, that should help.
Supposedly the "re" driver in FreeBSD CVS supports the Realtek 8169, as 
of September 2003.

Realtek support seems to be completely missing from DragonFly, which I'm 
sure is because of the driver cleanups or my ignorance in not being able 
to find it.
