This looks very much like the problem I'm experiencing with very different
hardware. Can you tell where it hangs when you boot in verbose mode (if it
hangs at all)?
This is old FreeBSD problem actually. Sometimes it hangs RIGHT after 
printing out version of the kernel. It happens much more often with 
notebook being on battery and A LOT more often if I am impatient and 
manually try to speed up booting by not waiting for any timeouts before 
actual booting of kernel.


You can try to get in DDB by pressing ctrl-alt-esc. Didn't work for me btw.
Yes, it does not work for me either for the early hang problem. 
Recompiled the kernel with DDB so hopefully I will manager to jump into 
DDB for this later bug (hang).
