You have both onboard sound as your extension PCI card enabled.  This may or
may not cause problems.
Try checking if 'mixer' shows good volume levels.

Aah yes indeed, I always had a bad case of IRQ when onboard and pci card 
is on, try disabling the onboard one in your bios.
