mysqld startup problem

Hi,

after a full buildworld, etc. three hours ago, I get the following
error message during boot when the system tries to launch the mysqld
(4.0.18) process via the nativ script in /usr/local/etc/rc.d (which
worked perfectly the last months and didn't change):

---
Fatal error 'gc cannot wait for a signal' at line ? in file
/usr/src/lib/libc_r/uthread/uthread_gc.c (errno = ?)
---

Once mysqld is started (which right now is not the case), the bacula
backup system gets started, but fails due to the mysql server not
running. Additionally, it complains about

/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.12 not found

I didn't change anything the past days, just updated the system.
What's funny, once the system is up, I can manually run the startup
scripts in /usr/local/etc/rc.d, and everything starts up fine...so I
guess there maybe is a race condition somewhere in the systems' sewer
tunnels...or whatever. :)

Enjoy the show
