1.1-current fails to boot on VMWare 4.52, 1.0EA works

I just installed latest 1.1 snapshot (from the ISO) and ran the installer
with all default values. This part went very well. Unfortunately, after
reboot, VMWare crashes very early with the following complains:
*** Virtual machine kernel stack fault (hardware reset) ***
The virtual machine just suffered a stack fault in kernel mode.
On a real computer, this would amount to a reset of the processor.
It can be caused by an incorrect configuration of the virtual machine,
a bug in the operating system, or a problem in the VMware Workstation
software. Press OK to reboot virtual machine or Cancel to shut it down.
Installing 1.0A the same way worked fine, so is a recent regression.
(I think (not 100% sure) I've seen the same kernel stack fault crash
with 1.0A, but only when the kernel terminated (after typing reboot))
This is VMWare Workstation 4.5.2, hosted on Win2K. VM Created using
"FreeBSD" type.
I've captured the CD dmesg and the register state, if that helps:

Any hints, suggestions?
Thanks,
Cedric
