pciconf -lv returns device not configured & pauze when booting on HP LP1000r

Hi all,

I thought I give a DF a spin on my test-server, which is a HP LP1000r 
(netserver line).
I tried it first with the gcc34 snapshot installer (from 2 days ago) but 
whatever I tried it didn't seem to get to boot1, I tried every 
documented option I could find (the man boot0cfg ,man fdisk and google) 
and including a manual install. I ended up installing 4.10 and did a src 
update from there which went smoothly.

I then compiled an adapted kernel and installed it.
I found 2 strange behavours, the first is that when it boots and the 
kernel checks for the devices it pauses for 21 seconds (well I could be 
of a couple) right after ata1.
The second strange is that when I do a pciconf -lv it returns this:
pciconf: /dev/pci: Device not configured
