mailer.conf gets overwritten

This is probably one of the short-comings of the way we handle configure
files at the moment, I have been talking to Eivind Eklund about looking
into if his etcmerge is something we could benefit from. I will see if I
can have some patches ready tonight, and will send the patch-set to the
list when it is working.
