Ahm, I just set
CFLAGS= -O -pipe
COPTFLAGS= -O -pipe
in /etc/make.conf, which is perfectly reasonable AFAIK.
Am I really doing nasty things here ??
The -march thingies are produced by the Makefiles.
And hardware problems should show up in other systems as well,
at least from time to time.
I just did a complete upgrade of fbsd-current on the same
machine without a fuss.
Right now it's happily portupgrading.
So, I'm quite a bit stunned as of what to do now.
I guess, this is one of the rare cases when a reinstall
of a bsd box is the best you can do...
