You are talking about pkg itself giving you trouble. You might have a<br>
damaged system. Maybe you could try the D Ports collection:<br>

It sounds odd. It would be easier if you would copy&paste the errors you<br>
see when you have these problems.<br>
"man pkg" will tell you everything there is to know about pkg.<br>
