<div>Hello,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I am planning to manually install Dragonfly on my laptop. The root file</div>
<div>system in my current installation is hammer2, but I have created no PFSs. I want</div>
<div>to change this in my next installation. Also, I will add a section on multiboot</div>
<div>with DragonFly on UEFI machines to the online documentation. However, before</div>
<div>that I need you to help me with the disk layout. The official documentation</div>
<div>(https://www.dragonflybsd.org/docs/handbook/environmentquickstart/, see the</div>
<div>section "Disk layout of a New Dragonfly BSD System using the HAMMER file</div>
<div>system") recommends creating separate PFSs for /var, /var/crash, /var/tmp, /usr,</div>
<div>/usr/obj, /tmp, and /home and null-mounting them to their respective mount</div>
<div>points. Recently, it was suggested to me to create a separate PFS for /build and</div>
<div>null-mount /var, /var/cache, /var/crash, /var/spool, /var/log, /var/tmp, and</div>
<div>/usr/obj to respective mount points created on the /build PFS. Does having a</div>
<div>separate PFS for /build offer an advantage over the officially recommended</div>
<div>layout? If yes, can this layout be combined with the officially recommended to</div>
<div>get the best of both worlds? </div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I would be happy to get recommendations for layouts</div>
<div>that best utilise the power and advantages of hammer2.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>As mentioned above, I am planning to create a section in the documentation on</div>
<div>this. Should I initially pack it under "2. Installation" or under "15. DragonFly</div>
<div>boot process"? Of course, after the initial post, we can edit that and move</div>
<div>respective parts of it to more suitable places in the documentation.</div>
<div>Or maybe I should initially create a separate section in the Handbook?</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Thank you very much in advance!</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Best regards,</div>
