That's great James! Yes, it's a fairly good low-cost laptop. Note that I believe that someone already ported cyapa to FreeBSD and made the interface a bit more mac-like. It's near the top the 'apply the patch' part under 'Build custom installation media'. He ported cyapa (the touchpad driver) and ig4 (the i2c driver for intel haswell) to FreeBSD.

http://blog.grem.de/pages/c720.html

-Matt

On Sat, Jul 18, 2015 at 10:19 AM, James Turner <james@calminferno.net> wrote:

Hi,
I'm a long time OpenBSD user and newer developer and recently bought and
Acer C720. While I'm in the process of hopefully porting the cyapa driver
from DragonflyBSD to OpenBSD I decided to install DragonflyBSD on the
C720.

This is the first time I've used DragonflyBSD and I just wanted to say
how nice I've found it and how well it's supported on the C720. It's
been a great experience so far and the C720 makes an excellent developer
laptop.
Thanks!
