Hi DF Folks,

I am doing some light maintenance work on my little DF fileserver

ECS NM70-I2 (V1.0) Intel Celeron 1037U 1.80GHz Intel NM70 Mini ITX

dfly# uname -a
DragonFly dfly.bagdala2.net 4.8-RELEASE DragonFly
v4.8.1.5.g69508-RELEASE #9: Mon Aug 28 23:50:01 EDT 2017
root at dfly.bagdala2.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/X86_64_GENERIC x86_64

in anticipation of 5.0 release. I just added another HDD which will be
used for HAMMER2 testing.

However I am starting to worry little bit about this server. Disk labels
have changed

This is original from almost 1.5 year ago

sysctl kern.disks
kern.disks: ad8 ad5 ad4 md0 vn3 vn2 vn1 vn0

Now

dfly# sysctl kern.disks
kern.disks: da3 da2 da1 da0 md0 vn3 vn2 vn1 vn0

What concerns me is the state of data drives

dfly# sysctl kern.disks
kern.disks: da3 da2 da1 da0 md0 vn3 vn2 vn1 vn0

dfly# sysctl -a | grep da1
kern.disks: da3 da2 da1 da0 md0 vn3 vn2 vn1 vn0

Something have definitelly changed as the previously these two drives
were denoted /dev/ad8 and /dev/ad5 and both were correctly listed as
SMART capable. I still have a start up daemon line in my /etc/rc.conf. I
also checked /usr/local/etc/smartd.conf to make sure I was not
halucinating device labels.

I broke into the BIOS and I don't see any options to enable or disable
HDD SMART support. I am 100% these are SMART capable drives and about98%
sure that few release back smartctl was listing them as SMART supported.

Any hints/suggestions to what am I doing wrong here.

Best,
Predrag
