Reading through discussion on kernel.org, it seems there are some news
here...

First, the bug seems to affect not only Baytrail, there is a fresh report
from Skylake user:

And second, there is a pointer to a "solution candidate". One user
has reported that using kernel "drm-intel-next" has solved stability
issues for him:
