We need an active plan of action to fix libusb version 1.0

I think - and this is as a bystander - they are catchup commits for ongoing
work.  jh32 on IRC was looking at this work too, and they're trying to get
in sync.  So, it's progress, but it doesn't change the default or what you
need for libusb 1.0.  They can correct me if I'm wrong.
