In 2010,I reported this issue,
http://leaf.dragonflybsd.org/mailarchive/users/2010-04/msg00027.html
but when I try 3.6.0,this problem is still here.

when I use
hammer volume-add /dev/da1 /
then use
hammer volume-del /dev/da1 /

the / size is always grows.

Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
ROOT 157G 805M 156G 0% /

Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
ROOT 236G 805M 235G 0% /

da1 is 80G.

I use
 "hammer volume-add /dev/da1 /
hammer volume-del /dev/da1 /"
twice.

When reboot, the / size changes to the right size.

http://gitweb.dragonflybsd.org/dragonfly.git/commit/16b533e86d040ed2450b060c3e99d1239d9a4266
does not fix the issue.
