zipped ISO in addition to gz?

I am a long-time Windows user, and have also been dealing with gzip'd
archives for years, still I didn't ever have to use the commandline
gzip, there are many great freeware/open source GUI apps (7-Zip,
Peazip, etc.) that can do it.
