jre-1.4.2.11 was the last version which runs without dumping core.
I have no idea what the problem is, but it started with 1.4.2.12,
and all versions after that will coredump.
new linux (2.6 + nptl) functionality required.  freebsd had a SoC project updating the linuxulator.  if somebody is interested, port it over.
