FFS differnces in Dragonfly and FreeBSD

yes, quite possible.  we don't do ufs2.

yes, but probably you want to pick different partitions for each OS :)

(At boot time i have to pick the correct bootloader and kernel etc.,
 but this is not too hard...)
you should rather pick the right partition/kernel.  the binaries are not compatible, so you wouldn't have much luck sharing them.

How about making an extra root partition, e.g. /dev/ad0s2g, for DragonFly,
then mount my user stuff from there?
Yes, but be sure to also put there /usr and probably /var.

What you need to do is:

1. install freebsd, leave a partition or two for dragonfly.
2. use ufs1 for all data you want to share (probably /home).
3. install dragonfly to the remaining partition(s)
4. from both OS, mount /home
5. to boot one or the other you can either use loader and set currdev/kernel to one or the other root partition
6. or you use grub to load different loaders.
should work this way
