iostat values zero'ed?

Obviously you could just set up a boolean that flips state after the first
iteration of the loop, but is there a higher-quality fix for this?  I'll do
it, as long as I'm doing it right and to standards of the style of the rest of
the project.  I know it sounds silly, but no matter how small, I'd like to do
it right.
