Need some help to talk me out of a new laptop

OK, I've been using a Toshiba P2-266 since, oh... 95 or so?  It has a new
8-Gig drive and 12" LCD.  And it's the size of a Webster's dictionary.  ;-)

My desktop (with a dangerously dedicated drive that won't yet boot DFly) is
nice, (512 RAM, 1.8 GHz Athlon, 40G HDD) but not portable.

I'm lusting after a T42 (< 5 lbs, 14" display, 1.4Ghz Pentium/Centrino,
wireless).

Tell me again why I really don't need to buy this laptop?
