for me, a ftp from a FBSD-5.3 to dragonfly easily woud
rate 8500 to 9000 kbytes/sec  using standard hardware
Sempron 2.2 100mbits , encore switch (a cheap 20$ 8 port switch)...
and a file of about 100MB...  copied at about 12 to 15 sec... 

On linux is the same, but as the load increases the BSD keeps
the performance over linux.... the BSD scheduler is better...
