Yes. Look into FreeBSD mailinglist archives and find it doubling the time
for some tests (afair phk then implemented some direct passthrough that
mends it a bit). Since the whole concept of GEOM also leads one to think
that it must be slower, maybe FreeBSD can show benchmarks, that show, that
it is not indeed slower.
