firewire/dconschat problems

Hi,

I'm trying to get gdb via firewire to work. I'm basically following the
steps in http://www.lemis.com/grog/Papers/Debug-tutorial/tutorial.pdf
(page 46). However, it doesn't work. First of all, when doing

fwcontrol

on either machine, I get:

WARNING: driver fw should register devices with make_dev() (dev_t = "#fw/0")

on that machine's console (fwcontrol's output looks fine). Ignoring
that, I then did

dconschat -br -G 5556 -t <eui64 of system to be debugged>

on the debugging machine. This leads to repeated messages:

WARNING: driver fw should register devices with make_dev() (dev_t =
"#fw/0x1000000")
firewire0: split transaction timeout dst=0xffc0 tl=0x24 state=3
firewire0: split transaction timeout dst=0xffc0 tl=0x25 state=3

[...]

and dconschat responds with

[dcons disconnected (get crom failed)]

Both machines are running HEAD and have dcons, dcons_crom and firewire
compiled in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sascha
