Does this new "Cell" processor from STI ( Sony Toshiba IBM ) sound
like an excellent match for DF's messaging system?
It looks interesting. Note that it is not an i386-architecture
chip. It's closer to the PowerPC line. So, you'd first need to
get Dragonfly ported to some new hardware architectures...
A Cell processor may be released around February 2005.

The shorter article says "Sony, IBM, and Toshiba are set to fully
unveil the details of the Cell processor at the upcoming
International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in early
February". I don't think computers will start shipping (not in
any volume) by then. PS3's, perhaps, but not general-purpose
computers.
