Heh.  Time to deprecate the use of -kernel as -chat?  I'd go for a chat 
list so that we can move things like this there.

(Actually, that's one of the reasons I use the NNTP interface; my 
newsreader can automagically mark threads that are uninteresting to me 
as read.)
