I've seen other software that tries to check for a BSD heritage OS this way.
Personally, I think it'd be a good thing to have 'BSD' in kern.ostype 
(something like 'DragonFlyBSD' or 'DFlyBSD') but I guess it's too late 
for such a decision since probably a lot of stuff already depends on the 
name being 'DragonFly'.
