Just tried a snap from snapshots.jp.freebsd.org of today (of 4.9).

I am still getting this:

ad0 gets detected alright, my IBM DTLA.
ad1 is the Maxtor beta drive of 160 Soren and me got from Maxtor to do
initial testig of the 48 bit addressing code.

I get this:

ad1: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting
ata0: resetting devices ..

and then it hangs, can't even CTRL-ALT-DEL it.

5.1 snaps OTOH boot into the installation utility. I am going to try
yesterday's snap and see how that fares. Last time I could install, but
had some issues with mounting root. (UFS v1)
