I had the same thing on a P4S533 mobo (SiS 651 chipset). There is a 
solution in the freebsd-hardware I'll summarize here for ease :)

In the boot loader:

set hw.ata.ata_dma="0"
set hw.ata.atapi_dma="0"
In /boot/loader.conf

hw.ata.ata_dma="0"
hw.ata.atapi_dma="0"
