Now what exactly seems to be the problem with the serial console ?
As for usability I've been using it on a few DF machines without *any*
problems. About the only thing can comes to my mind is you can't just
just "-P -h" as the old handbook told us because of the "-P" sense 
inversion.
I'd like to see "-P" be re-inverted so that you could hook up a 
keyboard before
or after boot, and the keyboard would work. Though if anyone wants to 
guess
someone was probably trying to make "-D" work was what the person was 
trying
to do when they broke "-P".
