    I hit the WRKOBJDIR problem too, but because pkgsrc doesn't read
    /etc/mk.conf any more anyway.  So renaming the file to make it
    obvious that it is no longer used will not cause any additional
    problems since we've already broken it.

    WRKOBJDIR is an easy problem to fix, but I really dislike the default
    being to create work inside /usr/pkgsrc whether pkgsrc is read-only
    or read-write.  I don't know what the pkgsrc people were thinking
    when they made that the default.
