It seems to me that the next operation after the fts_close() is 
exit(eval);
yes, you are right.  yet this aligns us more with NetBSD, so it is some 
gain.  additionally, if you imagine compiling rm as a builtin to sh (we 
don't do that, but it is possible), freeing it is neccessary.
