:I think you misunderstood.
:
:Joerg committed some changes to gzip to day. Some of the mails never
:appeared on the nntp server. I tried to send a post with my nntp client
:to the commit list, this worked just fine and the post popped up at the
:commit list via nntp-server just fine.
:
:Problem is, my post appeared -before- joerg's commit mails, wich he sent
:out before my testpost. Get it? :( I suck at explaining.

I've checked all of Joerg's commits and postings to commits@ made
today and they all made it to the nntp server. The two gzip commit
messages are on the nntp server.

The post reordering between the lists is to be expected. The news
subsystem pushes posts out to the lists every 5 minutes. Postings
made to the lists that must be transfered to the news subsystem can
be delayed because the mail to the news subsystem is sent via a normal
list subscription mechanism, so delays from sendmail due to other
subscriber addresses can cause a delay before the posting makes it to
     the newsgroup.

The delay should theoretically not be too bad, but it can certainly
be anything between 5 minutes and an hour depending on how hard a time
sendmail has processing the other subscribed to addresses. Posts can
     definitely pass each other.
