Issue #3180 has been updated by aswell.

Status changed from New to Closed

After spending some time converting a DF based router to FreeBSD, in order to use an LTE modem as primary WAN in a mobile environment, it seems there is likely much more involved in order to make DF work with LTE modems than just updating u3g. It appears that at a minimum the "cu" utility, the net/mpd5 port and/or the in kernel PPP would also need to be synced.

DragonFly can't be all things to all people. Since there likely isn't much of a demand for this functionality, and because I am not able to do the work myself, I will close this issue.

Attempting to use a Sierra MC7455 LTE Modem as WAN on DF based router does not work. Apparently the u3g kernel module used in FreeBSD supports a number of newer LTE modems, whereas the DF version of u3g is several years behind. Is it possible to sync the DF version of u3g with FreeBSD, in order to support newer LTE modems?
