I've been able to reproduce the hang with HEAD, but it's so
unpredictable that I'm beginning to suspect a hardware problem.  It
doesn't seem to matter whether the power adapter is plugged in or not.
 Sometimes it hangs; sometimes it doesn't.  I'd say go ahead and close
this.  Also, I'm now seeing acd0: illegal inquiry request on boot, but
I gather from reading the list that this is just noise.
