libthread_xu not working correctly with ssl?

I run a relative old HEAD (kernel is up-to-date, world is from Jan5,
using libthread_xu) on my laptop (UP box), I didn't seem to have
problem with ssl connection (https://url) in firefox.
Do you have a recent firefox?  I'm not sure when it started here.  I just 
recompiled thunderbird, so maybe it also needs a recent mozilla/world.  I 
did observe this already in december on my laptop.
