Then I spoke too soon :).  It appears to be after the import of
ACPICA-20061109.  Can you try this in the boot loader:
  set debug.acpi.layer="ACPI_PROCESSOR ACPI_NAMESPACE"
  set debug.acpi.level="ACPI_LV_INFO ACPI_LV_FUNCTIONS"

and show me the last few messages from the driver?  Also, can you
send me privately the output of the following command:
  # acpidump -dt > P4V8X-X.asl
