IBM 600E laptop installation

:/boot/loader... found", it shows a couple columns of text (crash output?)

:boot loader is hitting something it really doesn't like.  Any suggestions?

    You can try bypassing /boot/loader by breaking out of the boot
    sequence at the boot2 prompt, then booting the kernel directly.
    I'm not entirely sure that that works with the CD, but you can try
    (hitting escape before /boot/loader loads).
