lost with booting

I am totally lost and need some ideas/help.

For the last few days I've been trying to get this new 200 GB hard disk to
co-operate.

Had 2 partitions:
125 GB NTFS
70 GB UFS

I had DF installed on the 70 GB and could boot and all that, but for some
reason I couldn't boot Windows XP after the first phase of setting up.

Moved all data to the 2nd disk still in my system and threw away all
partitions. Created them through Windows XP, same layout, installed and all
worked wonderfull. Then proceded to install DF through a snapshot of end
August (GCC2), the same one I used to install the first time. Installed the
bootblocks with packet mode on, like before, and now whenever I select to
boot BSD I get a BTX error which disappears so quickly in the subsequent
auto-reset.

Boot from CD, set currdev to disk2s2 and load kernel and I am able to boot.

Of course, I am not enjoying all of this. :S

Ideas and the likes?
