What I had sent to Mark (and unfortunately don't have at this computer to
paste in) was something like this:

- Find this line in /usr/src/sys/i386/conf/GENERIC (or your custom kernel
config, if you have one)

options         INET6                   #IPv6 communications protocols

Comment it out.  Recompile your kernel (and world if you've updated sources
since last compilation/install), recompile apache2, and you should be set. 
This is assuming you don't need IPv6.  Disclaimer: haven't tried this
myself.
