:which doesn't do the trick in my case, as I have a ata133 controller...
:
:> Like Matt and me said: ATAng is fun, but has issues. Just like the
:> current stuff.
:
:As I answerd in the other thread: I'll try to backport.

David Rhodus had been working on that but I think if you want to give it
    a try, please go ahead.

However, please do it as a new driver 'atang'. Leave the existing 'ata'
driver intact. Originally I thought we might be able to simply update
the ata driver but the more I listen in on the freebsd mailing lists, the
more I think I would prefer it as a separate driver and that we
conditionally compile in one or the other (or even make them modules).

This would make it easier for us to control the default... if we decide
its time to make the default atang, and then get a whole slew of bug
reports, we can switch it back real quick :-) Eventually the old driver
will fall by the wayside and we will be able to remove it, but that is
going to be several months away at least.

This reminds me of when FreeBSD switched from the w-series of ATA drivers
to the ata series and all that grief that caused.
