cue0 driver (CATC NETMATE2 USB Ethernet) - Doesn't work :(

When trying to use the above adapter (which is by all accounts supported,
the device is detected correctly and is configurable. Unfortunately though,
the device is useless, after bringing up the interface, you are unable to
ping internal ip addresses (on my home lan) or ping it from any other
machine on the same lan. IPFW is not configured, as this is a base install
(i finished the install about an hour ago!).

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried everything i know :(
