Internet problem after recent rewrite of mbuf

    I've been looking at the PPP code in the kernel.  It makes a lot of
    assumptions but so far I don't see a smoking gun.  But I am fairly
    sure there is something in there related to the new mbuf allocator
    that is causing your problem.

    Here's something else to try... try turning off tcp header compression
    and see if that fixes things.
