Panic after enabling PNPBIOS and pcm device

    I spoke too soon.  I didn't notice Joerg's commit this morning.  David
    Rhodus has the same crash and thinks it might be related.

:    It looks like it crashed from *within* a BIOS call.  These kinds
:    of crashes are extremely difficult to track down because, more often
:    then not, they occur due to BIOS bugs rather then due to kernel bugs.
